Laoag City, Ilocos Norte – In cooperation with the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN) and Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center (MMMHMC), the Singapore General Hospital (SGH) will once again conduct a medical mission on Sept. 19-21 at the said state-run medical institution in Batac City.

The PGIN and MMMHMC will assist the surgeons from SGH while they provide various comprehensive musculoskeletal services.

Medical services such as total hip or knee replacements, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and rotator cuff repairs, ankle and foot surgeries for injuries or hallux valgus, hand surgeries for fractures, tendon injuries, or contractures, and plastic surgery for cleft palate and lip, and post-burn contractures.

Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc attested to the doctors’ expertise and competence, as some of them are the best doctors in the world, considering that SGH is the top government hospital in Singapore.

“Ang mga doctors na galing Singapore po ay napakagaling; some of the best doctors in the world. Ito po ay Singapore General Hospital, parang number one government hospital in Singapore,” said Manotoc in a press conference on Aug. 28.

Under Gov. Marcos Manotoc’s administration, the health system has always been a priority for the provincial government, with programs and activities aimed at improving and maintaining the well-being of the Ilokano community.

Considered the largest acute tertiary hospital in Singapore, the SGH has over 50 clinical specialties, focusing on patient-centered care and comprehensive healthcare services.

It is also a leader in medical education and research.

Last year, the surgical mission catered to six patients, wherein four of them were recipients of hip and knee replacement while the other two received foot and ankle operations.
