The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte has partnered with Philippine Airlines (PAL) to launch direct flights between Cebu and Laoag on December 15, to enhance air travel options for passengers.

In May 2023, PAL successfully conducted a promotional flight carrying the airline’s executives and influencers from Cebu to attend the “Himala sa Buhangin Arts and Music Festival,” offering passengers a firsthand glimpse of the Cebu-Laoag route.

The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte is actively working to strengthen the collaboration between the local government and the private sector. This commitment anticipates an increase in both business and leisure travelers to the province, with the availability of direct flights at Laoag International Airport just in time for the holiday season.

Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc is dedicated to improving transportation accessibility and ensuring the successful implementation of new flight options that will enhance connectivity. His commitment aligns with the province’s larger vision of revitalizing the economy and reinvigorating the tourism sector in Ilocos Norte.

“We are connecting Ilocos Norte to the southern portion of the Philippines. There are many Ilokanos in Mindanao. Hopefully, the launching of this flight route will allow us to connect to them via Davao, thus giving them easier way of coming home,” expressed Mr. A-Xavier Ruiz, Officer-in-Charge of the Ilocos Norte Tourism Office.
