In celebration of the 107th birth anniversary of the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr., Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc, along with President Ferdinand “Bong Bong” Marcos Jr., led the distribution of Agricultural inputs to various farmer, fisherfolk, and livestock grower cooperatives in Ilocos Norte at the Mariano Marcos State University Covered Court in the City of Batac, on September 11.
Also present in the distribution were newly appointed Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Director John B. Pascual, other government officials, and local chief executives.
The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte and DA distributed over P150 Million worth of agricultural inputs, including multi-crop cultivators, tractors, combined-harvesters, fuel subsidy vouchers, seeds, starter feeds, fishery paraphernalia, and solar-powered irrigation systems, among others.
In his speech, Governor Marcos Manotoc urged the cooperatives to maximize the benefits of new technology, stating:
“This is what we need in our province to improve our technology, our mechanization, our yield, processing and marketing.
Rest assured nandito po ako para sa lahat ng ating mannalon sa buong probinsya, bastat mannalon, tutulong po tayo,” he added.
Additionally, Governor Marcos Manotoc expressed his gratitude to President Bong Bong Marcos, and the Department of Agriculture for their continued support to Ilocos Norte.
Gov. Marcos Manotoc remains committed to supporting the agricultural sector of the province by adopting modern technology, applying responsible practices, and strengthening partnerships with stakeholders to stimulate economic growth, improve livelihoods, and contribute to the overall development of the country.
