Over a thousand jobseekers in Ilocos Norte may find work opportunities in production, manufacturing and business process outsourcing (BPO) this coming Labor Day.
This was after 36 local employers with 1,422 vacancies have confirmed participation in the Labor Day Job Fair to be held at Robinsons Place in San Nicolas town on May 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Interested jobseekers are encouraged to pre-register here for faster referral during the event.
Among the top vacancies that applicants can expect are call center representatives, microfinance officers, service crew, production workers, and sales clerks.
“There are a lot of job vacancies waiting for jobhunters including the possibility to be hired on the spot,” said Anne Marie Lizette Atuan, head of the Provincial Employment Service Office (PESO) in an interview on Wednesday.
A government one-stop-shop will also be available to assist job applicants with whatever concerns they may have.
Among the participating government agencies are the Philippine Statistics Authority, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Social Security System, and the Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG).
In addition to work openings, PESO uses the “WorkIN” website to advertise and encourage people to apply for available skills and livelihood trainings.
