EAST West Banking Corp. announced its employees and third-party hires got their first shot of AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccines at the Orchard Hotel in Davao City last September 9.

Continuing in its mission to protect all of its employees across the Philippines from Covid-19, EastWest launched the Mindanao leg of parent company Filinvest Land Inc.’s vaccination program this month.

Local EastWest employees and third-party hires and consultants based in Davao City and nearby areas received the company’s AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccines.

In addition to its main Davao leg, EastWest also launched various pocket vaccination drives around Mindanao. The bank also vaccinated employees in Hagonoy, Matalam and Villanueva, among other locations.

Beyond its vaccination program, EastWest said it is also donating part of the Covid-19 vaccine doses it has procured to various municipalities and provinces around the Visayas and Mindanao. The bank said about 300 doses will be donated to the municipality of Palo in Leyte, 200 doses to Bacolod and Negros Occidental and 100 doses each to Bohol, Zamboanga and the Davao local government unit.

“We want to push for full immunity not only within EastWest and its partners, but also among the greater community across the nation. We believe that in doing our civic duty and donating crucial Covid-19 vaccine doses to communities in need, we will be well on our way to normal,” Isabelle Gotianun Yap, executive director at EastWest, was quoted in a statement as saying.

Filinvest’s vaccination program was officially launched last August for employees and third-party hires in Metro Manila, then expanding to the CRK Vaccination Center in Clark, Pampanga and ARC Hospital in Cebu. Because of the program as well as LGUs’ respective vaccination programs, EastWest said it is nearing full immunity.
