After the successful “OPLAN HERODOTUS 2” that resulted in the discovery and destruction of more than half-billion worth of marijuana plants, another marijuana eradication operation was conducted by combined elements of police Cordillera and PDEA-CAR in the mountainous area of Kalinga.
Dubbed as “OPLAN MARITES”, the operation resulted in the discovery and destruction of P 15 million worth of marijuana plants on March 11-12, 2022.
Based on police reports eight plantation sites were raided by the operatives in Brgy. Bugnay, Tinglayan, Kalinga.
The operatives uprooted and burned a total of 75,000 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants from eight marijuana plantation sites with an estimated land area of 7,150 square meters.
