Baguio Needs To Vaccinate 191K Residents

Baguio City – More than 191,000 Baguio citizens still need to be vaccinated, as to figures presented during the executive management committee meeting last week.

According to Mayor Benjamin Magalong, census-based figures present Baguio population to an estimated 366,000.

Those age 17 and below account for 19% thus a good 69,540 less, which bring the figures for adult population as 296,460.

With the city’s targeted immunity at 95% of 296, 460; the numbers are again pegged at 281,637 individuals.

However, with 89,698 already vaccinated as of August 19, Thursday, 191,939 should have their turn to be jabbed with any of the two-dose or one-dose vaccines. The vaccination roll-out depends on the arrival of national government- allotted and city-procured vaccines which have been administered since March: Sinovac, Astrazeneca, Pfizer, Gamaleya, Moderna, and Janssen and Janssen.

As to the Management Information Technology Division (MITD), the city’s vaccination registration is at 241,108; from the first five categories.

Data shows that (as of August 19), of the 207,181 first and second jabs administered; there were 69,252 adults with comorbidities, followed by 47,018 essential workers, 46,970 senior citizens, 39,049 health workers and 4,892 who belong to the indigent group.

It was also known that private corporations have acquired vaccines through a tripartite procurement for administration to their employees.
