Baguio City – Ang Baguio City Police Office nakapansin ng pagbaba ng insidente ng krimen sa unang semestre noong nakaraang taon sa 380 bumaba ito sa 362 sa kaparehong panahon ngayon taon. Ayon sa hepe ng BCPO Plans and Programs Unit na si Police Lt. Colonel Allan K. Sison,
Sa mga krimen naganap na may bilang na 362 mula Enero hangang hunyo ngayong taon, 220 ang nabigyan ng crime solution efficiency of 60.78 percent.
Sinabi ni Sison na ilang pamamagitan ang ginugol ng BCPO upang mapagbuti ang crime solution efficiency lalong lalo na sa pakikipagtulungan sa City Prosecutor’s Office at sa iba pang hukuman para sa mabilis na pagpapalabas ng arrest warrants laban sa lumalabag sa kapayapaan at kaayusan.
Anya bumuo ang BCPO ng Special Tracker Teams (STT) na sumusubaybay sa pagpapalabas ng arrest warrants at ang paghahanap ng mga sumasagot o respondents para sa mabilisan nilang paghuli.
Patuloy ang kapulisan sa pagsasagawa ng paghahanap para sa ikakadakip ng mga suspeks at sa ganon ay masampahan ng mga kaso sa pamamagitan ng inquest proceedings kontra sa lumabag ng espesial na batas.
The BCPO institutionalized “Oplan Pagtugis” to conduct manhunt operation against respondents and the creation of a database for the profiling of all personalities involved in different forms of criminalities to facilitate identification of would-be suspects.
Sison said other interventions include the strategic deployment of personnel specially in the crime prone areas; strengthened collaboration with stakeholders, force multipliers and volunteer groups as additional manpower in crime prevention strategies; and the requirement for establishment owners to hire security personnel and mandatory installation of closed-circuit television or CCTVs as proactive measures and crime deterrence.
The BCPO intensified its information drives on crime prevention tips and hotline numbers through distribution of flyers, community dialogues and posting in their official social media page.
Sison said the BCPO also conducts complete debriefing to all arrested suspects to ascertain their other illegal activities, cohorts and plans. (Joel Cervantes & Jimmy Bernabe)
