PDEA-Mt. Province in joint interdiction/checkpoint operations with PNP seized marijuana bricks and tubular forms with a total of 167 bricks of dried marijuana leaves and six pcs. in tubular forms with an estimated total street value of ₱ 20,760,000 .00.
In the early morning of October 13, 2021, operatives arrested three suspects at Sitio Ampawilen, Poblacion, Sadanga, Mt. Province, onboard a gray Nissan Almera along with the 148 bricks and 6 tubular forms of dried marijuana leaves with a street value of ₱ 18, 480,000.
Law enforcers identified the suspects as Jorge Tomaldong Eyawon, 34, Dario Di-wean Diway, 23; and Jake Caesar Bulosan Linchangan, 19, all residents of Cudal, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
Meanwhile, at Oowayen, Poblacion, Sadanga, another 5 individuals onboard a black Hiace Grandia were arrested for travelling with them 19 bricks of Marijuana dried leaves with street value of ₱ 2, 280,000.00.
The five suspects from Mt. Province were identified as Jonathan Abella, 37, a government employee, resident of Gawana, Barlig; Jeric Sansano, 30, construction worker, resident of Fuyayeng, Bontoc; Samson Damaso, 28, construction worker, resident of Samoki, Bontoc; Sonny Kalaw, 36, former PNP member and a candidate for Mayoralty of Sabangan and a student from Batayan, Tadian.
PDEA CAR Regional Director Gil Castro urged the public to be vigilant as he vowed to safeguard the Cordillera from any narco-politicians.
The 8 suspects will be charged for violation of RA 9165.
