Bacolod City – A resolution reiterating the indispensable cooperation of all telecommunications network companies to establish their respective Sim Card Assistance Booths at the Bacolod City Government Center for the purpose of sim card registration, was approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod recently.
Authored by Councilor Jason Isidro Villarosa, the resolution said that on October 10, 2022, Republic Act No. 11934, or the Sim Card Registration Act was signed by the President and passed into law.
It can be recalled that Resolution No. 127 was passed by the Bacolod SP requesting all telecommunication companies to set up assistance booths for the purpose of Sim Card registration, it said.
It is the intent of this present resolution to respectfully reiterate the need for telecommunications companies operating within Bacolod City to assist its constituents and stakeholders, the resolution said.
It has been observed that not all members of society have registered their sim cards despite the extension of 90 days promulgated by the national government, it said.
