Bacolod City – Power Watch Negros recently launched a signature campaign against the excessive and exorbitant increase in the rate of electricity imposed by Central Negros Electric Cooperative.
The launch was conducted at the residence of Power Watch secretary general Wennie Sancho in Brgy. Granada, Bacolod City recently, through a People’s Petition Against Ceneco, which was distributed to the different barangays.
Sancho said the petition will be included in the agenda of the public hearing on September 9, to be called by Councilor Claudio Puentevella, chairman of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Energy and Public Affairs.
On top of this concern is the demand of Power Watch for the registration of Ceneco with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), he added. (Chrysee Semillano via The Visayan Daily Star (TVDS), photo courtesy of TVDS)
