The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Regional Statistical Services Office–Negros Island Region (RSSO–NIR) conducted the PSA CHICKS Service Caravan in collaboration with the Office of the 6th District Representative of Negros Occidental, providing vital government services to residents from October 6 to 11, 2025.
The six-day caravan was held across various areas in the district, including the cities of Kabankalan and Sipalay and the municipalities of Cauayan, Candoni, Ilog, and Hinoba-an.
The activity aimed to bring essential PSA services closer to communities, particularly in far-flung areas, by facilitating National ID registration and issuance, the Birth Registration Assistance Project, and the Civil Registry System (CRS) Mobile Outlet Services.
Through the Provincial Statistical Office of Negros Occidental, the PSA team led by Registration Officer II Edwin P. Guiking processed numerous real-time requests for vital civil registry documents such as Certificates of Live Birth, ensuring immediate access for constituents.
Statistical Analyst and Designated Vault Administrator Hanah G. Coruila joined the RSSO–NIR CRS Mobile Outlet Services Team during the event to assist in screening and processing applications.
PSA-NIR Interim Regional Director and Chief Statistical Specialist John F. Campomanes said the initiative reflects the agency’s continuing effort to make government services more inclusive and accessible.
“This collaborative effort highlights the commitment of both the PSA and the Sixth District Congressional Office to ensure that vital government services are accessible to all
constituents, particularly those in far-flung areas of the Sixth District, Negros Occidental,” Campomanes said.
The PSA CHICKS Service Caravan builds on the success of previous years, where similar outreach efforts were conducted to deliver statistical and civil registration services closer to local communities.
The project aligns with the PSA’s mandate to ensure efficient delivery of registration and identification services under Republic Act No. 11055 or the Philippine Identification System Act, and other civil registration programs aimed at strengthening data accessibility and accuracy.
By continuing such caravans, the PSA reinforces its commitment to bringing essential documentation and statistical services directly to the people, promoting data integrity and improving access to vital records in underserved areas. (news/photo psa pr)
