BACOLOD CITY — The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region has reinforced its officer corps with the arrival of 42 new police lieutenants from the Philippine National Police Academy.
The new officers are expected to enhance operational effectiveness and support the delivery of responsive and professional police services across the region.
Police Brig. Gen. Romano Cardiño, acting regional director of PRO-NIR, formally welcomed the officers from the PNPA “Silang-Paglaom” Class of 2026 during a recent courtesy call and send-off ceremony at Kanlaon Hall in Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr. in Barangay Estefania.
The officers were assigned to various police units across the region to strengthen operational capability and frontline police services.
Of the total, 10 were assigned to the Bacolod City Police Office, 10 to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, 13 to the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, two to the Siquijor Police Provincial Office, and seven to the Regional Mobile Force Battalion.
In his message, Cardiño encouraged the newly commissioned police lieutenants to become officers who inspire trust through integrity, professionalism, and genuine public service.
He reminded them that wherever they are assigned, they must embody the principles of the SAFE NIR Program.
“We strive to be Seen through an active and visible presence in our communities. Appreciated through professionalism, integrity, and respect for the rule of law. Felt through prompt, compassionate, and responsive service, and to be extraordinary by doing more than what is expected,” Cardiño said.
