BACOLOD CITY – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Bacolod City is set to launch its online platforms through messaging applications to efficiently attend to the complaints from the public, regarding the ongoing investigation into anomalous flood control projects in Negros Occidental.

NBI Bacolod City Chief Manuel Fayre Jr. said that they will launch an open hotline and accounts for various messaging applications such as Messenger, WhatsApp, and Viber that will serve as a platform for the public to provide additional information to the investigating body to fast-track the investigation.

“Our office will be bringing out a Viber and WhatsApp number and a messenger account later on so that the community can give us feedback and additional information,” he said, citing that they already received various complaints.

Fayre clarified that once their online hotline platform is publicized, they will only cater to complaints and feedback regarding the flood control and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-related projects in Negros Occidental.

The initiative of the investigating body came after numerous concerned citizens expressed their complaints on the said projects.

The NBI Bacolod has issued a subpoena to all six district engineers in the province, requiring them to submit all the documents regarding the ongoing and completed flood control projects in their respective areas. It was reported that all six districts have claimed that they are 100 percent sure that no ghost projects exist in the province.

After the submission of documents, NBI is set to inspect and visit all the project sites. (Richard Caballero Jr. via tvds photo by tvds)
