Mayor Evelio Leonardia’s letter to National IATF appealing for de-escalation of Bacolod’s MECQ status to the less stringent GCQ starting October 1.

In a letter addressed to the Department of Health, DILG, and the national IATF, Leonardia expressed his opinion as based on the most recent results of the COVID 19 status in the city. According to the mayor, upon implementing all the necessary protocols under the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine since the second week of September, there is a significant reduction of the number of cases in the city, as based on the results as of the 27th of the Month.

The mayor also stressed that the recent mass testing conducted in Silay City, the 4 molecular laboratories constructed, and the aggressive contact tracing operations to be conducted would be of help in containing the spread of the virus in the coming weeks.
