BACOLOD CITY – The MassKara Festival 2025 formally unveiled its new official logo, “Mass-Kasingkasing” alongside its theme “One Smile, One City, One Heart,” which Bacolod Gugma Foundation Inc. says represents the very ‘heartbeat’ of Bacolod City.
The logo was created by Bacolod-born artist Paula Romaine Salmingo, an illustrator and graphic artist who previously co-designed the Electric MassKara 2019 logo.
The emblem is a visual narrative of the city’s culture, arts, and history that traces the festival’s origins back to the tragic sinking of the M/V Don Juan, a pivotal moment that gave birth to the festival as a celebration of resilience.
The design also pays tribute to Bacolod’s culinary heritage, referencing Negrosanon delicacies like piaya, and the artistry and craftsmanship that define the city.
The logo also honors the legacy of the late Eli Santiago, who created the original MassKara logo.
“This year’s celebration is more than a festival—it is a testament to unity,” said Gugma Foundation President and Festival Director Rodney Mitz Ascalon. (Theresa Mae Dulman via tvds photo by tvds)
