Bacolod City – The request of Philippine Air Lines for a special flight for fully vaccinated individuals from October 18 to November 29 this year, has been granted by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson.

This comes after both Negros Occidental and highly urbanized Bacolod City started relaxing travel restrictions to fully vaccinated individuals for their entry to the province, without negative RT-PCR test results.

Lacson said informed PAL Manager Rene Aviles that their request to allow fully vaccinated persons to travel from Manila to Bacolod City has been approved.

Aviles, in seeking the permission of Lacson to allow fully vaccinated individuals to travel from Manila to Bacolod, said that all passengers will avail of a special discounted rate of ₱ 3,750 all-in-fare without undergoing an RT-PCR test.

Travelers to the province are given the option to either post their negative RT-PCR test result or their vaccination card via the S-PaSS system. All the vaccination cards should be reflected in the provincial Management Information System or the vaccination portal of the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT).

Aviles said the purpose of the special flight is to help promote the vaccination program of the government.

Lacson said that the scheduled flight will depart from Manila at around 8:00 am and will arrive at the Bacolod-Silay International Airport at around 9:20 am, every Monday and Friday only, starting October 18 until November 29 this year.

Provincial Consultant Albee Benitez also disclosed that the PAL special flights will also cater to residents of Bacolod City, considering that the city government will also no longer require RT-PCR Test for fully vaccinated residents.

Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia also issued an executive order on Wednesday that aims to ease travel restrictions for fully vaccinated individuals.

On the other hand, Aviles said that selling of tickets for the flight will start October 14 and will be available on selected travel agents and PAL direct ticket offices only and not through their website, Aviles said.
