Bacolod City – The Business-One-Stop-Shop (BOSS) of Bacolod City for the renewal and application of business permits has started at the fourth floor of the Ayala Malls Capitol Central and will run until January 20.

Stella Rose Rayos, Permits and Licensing Division head, said those who will process their business permits until January 20 will avail of 10 percent discount. The BOSS is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.

The 10 percent discount in business tax takes effect from January 3 to 20 per City Ordinance No. 565, she said, adding that they expect the mayor to extend the BOSS until Feb. 15 although they are not yet sure if taxpayers could still avail of the discount.

Rayos said the total number of business registrations as of December 29 was 22,795 compared to the total number last year, which was 22,267, or an increase of 2 percent. This indicates the economy of Bacolod City is slowly recovering.

The number of new application last year was 3,377 compared to 3,088 in 2021, she said.

They conducted advanced processing starting last November 20 until December 29, she also said.

Rayos said taxpayers will have an option whether to process their application online or manually. Those who want to process their application online can check their link at the city’s official website at www.bacolodcity.gov.ph. Walk in applicants do not need to get an appointment.

She believes that more taxpayers will be encouraged to get their business permit with the availability of online registration since they are trying their best to make processing easier and faster.

This will also be the first time that they will be releasing QR coded business permits to ensure that these will not tampered, Rayos added. (Chrysee Semillano via tvds photo by tvds)
