President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. over-the-weekend led the 12 senatorial candidates of the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas in wooing the support of almost two million voters of Negros Occidental, as he admitted that it will be a tough fight for administration candidates.
In his speech at the Victorias City Coliseum, the President acknowledged that other senatorial aspirants are “very good, very skilled, very knowledgeable and very loving towards the Philippines.”
Marcos said he needs the help of Negrenses, stressing the senatorial aspirants he is endorsing are all good.
But the President said he also received reports that other senatorial aspirants are feeling nervous about facing administration candidates in the 2025 midterm elections.
“Naririnig ko po ‘yung ating katunggali ay siguro nine-nerbyos na sila, kasi kung ako man, kung tatakbo akong senator, at wala ako dito sa grupong ito at titignan ko sila? Nako, nenerbyosin din ako (I hear our opponents are probably getting nervous, because if I were to run for senator, and I’m not here in this group and I’m going to look at them? I would be nervous too), Marcos said.
The proclamation rally in Victorias City was attended by senatorial aspirants, including Manny Pacquiao, Camille Villar, Erwin Tulfo, Francis Tolentino, Tito Sotto, Panfilo Lacson, Benhur Abalos, Abby Binay, Imee Marcos, Lito Lapid, Ramon Bong Revilla, and Pia Cayetano. (Gilbert Bayoran via tvds)
