Bacolod City – The number of COVID-19 infected police personnel in Western Visayas is now 93, after four more tested positive on January 30, according to reports of the PNP Health Service.
Of the 93 COVID-19 infected personnel, 11 are assigned at the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office and two at the Bacolod City Police Office.
Other police units with active cases include National Support Units – 18, Antique Police Provincial Office (PPO) -12, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 and PNP 6 regional headquarters -10 each, Aklan PPO – 8, Iloilo City Police Office and Iloilo PPO- 7 each, and Capiz and Guimaras PPOs with three each.
Forty-one of the 93 police personnel who tested positive for COVID-19 are symptomatic, while 52 are asymptomatic.
While there are four new cases recorded at NOCPPO, IPPO, AKPPO and RMFB6, the PNP Health Service also reported four recoveries.
Since last year, a total of 1,710 police officers were infected by the virus, with 1,611 of them already recovered. (Gilbert Bayoran via tvds, photo by tvds)
