At least half a million doses of Astra, Sputnik Covid vaccines land at Naia

Some 578,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) on Friday morning from Taipei on board a China Airlines flight.

Vaccine czar and chief implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship and Go Negosyo Founder Joey Concepcion, Department of Health (DOH) Directors Ariel Valencia and Maria Soledad Antonio welcomed the shipment at the airport.

The AstraZeneca vaccine shipment was immediately transported to PharmaServ Express cold storage in Marikina City guarded by Airport Customs personnel after it was cleared and released by the One Stop Shop of the Bureau of Customs-Naia.

Another shipment of 15,000 doses of Sputnik V vaccine also arrived at around 4:50 p.m. from Russia on board Qatar Airways.

On Sunday, August 15, 2021, a shipment of some 469,200 doses of Moderna vaccine from the Covax Facility in Belgium is expected to arrive at around 3:35 p.m. on board Singapore Airlines.
