Sarangani Province: Members of 73rd Infantry Battalion discovered another NPA’s arms cache at Sityo Salyan, Brgy Sapu Masla, Malapatan, Sarangani Province, on the morning of March 29, 2020, after the revelation of a certain @Willie, a former member of Communist Terrorist Group operating in Sarangani.
The arms cache, which is the second arms cache of the same group to be discovered within the week, yielded one Caliber 5.56 mm M16 rifle, four magazines, and 82 ammunition.
It can be recalled that on March 28, 2020, the same unit discovered an arms cache of the same group at Sitio Mahayag, Upper Suyan, Malapatan, Sarangani Province, which yielded 490 7.62mm ammunition.
Ltc Ronaldo G Valdez said that the information provided by former rebels that led to the discovery of firearms and ammunitions of the communist terrorist indicates the willingness of the FR to help the government to end the insurgency in the countryside.
In another instance, CMO Platoon of the 73IB led by 2Lt Bago onboard Philippine Air force aircraft dropped leaflets in the countryside to encourage remaining communist terrorists to surrender. The leaflets contain information about the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
