Alex Eala yields to Switzerland’s Sebastianna Scilipoti, 7-5, 6-3, to exit the US Open junior girls competition on Friday morning (Manila time) at Flushing Meadows, New York.
All’s not lost, however, for the 16-year-old Eala as her partnership with Belgium’s Hanne Vandewinkel remains in contention in girls’ doubles.
They will face AmericansElizabeth Coleman and Madison Sieg in the quarterfinals.
