Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City – The top 9 most wanted Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) member in the province of Agusan del Norte with multiple warrant of arrests was collared by the police operatives in Barangay Poblacion 2, RTR town, Agusan del Norte, yesterday, April 29.
POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M CARAMAT, JR, PNP Caraga Director identified the arrested person as Rondy E. Mandag, 37 years old, member of the NPA Guerilla Front Committee 21C, Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee, and resident of Brgy. San Antonio of the aforesaid municipality.
Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Regional Field Unit 13 together with Provincial Intelligence Branch of Agusan del Norte, RTR Municipal Police Station and Highway Patrol Group 13 launched the operation around 09:50AM.
The suspect was charged with two counts of murder under criminal case no. 2019-740 and 2987 without recommended bail bond; multiple attempted murder under criminal case no 2019-1028 with recommended bail bond of Php120,000; and kidnapping under criminal case no. 2019-737 without bail bond all issued by the Regional Trial Court 10th Judicial Region, Branch 3, Butuan City.
Based on investigation, Mandag was identified as one of the CTG members who ambushed the troops of 29th IB, Philippine Army while conducting Combat Security Patrol in Brgy. San Antonio, RTR in November 2018. Aside from killing three government troops, they also kidnapped a CAFGU member.
