Addressing Oxygen Shortage

The City Government continues to help secure medical oxygen for hospitals, as COVID-19 surge is stretching oxygen supplies in the city.
Ciudad Medical Zamboanga (CMZ) got 12 new oxygen tanks with content from Cebu City Saturday morning through the facilitation of Mayor Beng Climaco.
The mayor sought the assistance of Coast Guard Station Central Cebu Acting Commander Alvin Dagalea to expedite the transport of the tanks amid the depleting oxygen supply in hospitals due to the rising cases of COVID-19.
CMZ President Atty. Jihann Hairun-Natividad thanked Mayor Climaco and the City Government for the intervention.
Climaco, together with CDRRMO and LIATF Chief Implementer Dr. Elmeir Apolinario and City Health Officer Dr. Dulce Miravite met with hospital administrators 2 weeks ago to discuss measures to address concerns related to medical oxygen supply in the city.
Last September 25, an ISO tank containing liquid oxygen arrived in the city from Cebu also through the facilitation of the mayor and the LIATF to help augment supply, as Covid-19 cases continue to rise.
