Zamboanga City – The Police Regional Office 9 (PRO 9) has revealed that 8,000 policemen are being targeted in region 9 to receive the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine.
PB Gen Ronaldo Genaro E. Ylagan, PRO 9 regional director said, they do not have the idea yet when they will be vaccinated.
He added even their doctors and nurses who are taking care of the health of the policemen in the Regional Health Services 9 were not yet vaccinated.
Vaccination is now being done for medical frontliners to include doctors, nurses, and other hospital workers.
Vaccines currently available in the region are the Sinovac and the AstraZeneca.
The priority list is being followed for vaccination first priority are the health care workers, senior citizens, those with comorbidities, indigents, uniformed workers, and other workers of the government.
In PRO 9, there were 270 cases of Covid 19, there are 16 active cases and one mortality.
Meanwhile, on the vaccines, the police were also tasked to secure these vaccines.
The regional director said, there are no threats to these vaccines however they just wanted to be sure that these vaccines will go to the right people.
“Sinesecure natin yung bakuna kasi kulang na nga kung mabawasan pa mas magagalit yung mga kababayan natin,” Ylagan said. (R.G. Antonet A. Go)
