Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet – Three drug courier suspect were arrested while more than 800 thousand pesos worth of marijuana stalks were seized in a border control checkpoint in Baguio City, Sunday evening, December 6, 2020.
According to the report of Baguio City Police Office, a black Toyota Fortuner bearing plate no. XHX 404 was flagged down in a checkpoint operation being manned by the City Mobile Force Company. The driver of the said vehicle, instead of adhering to the police officers, ignored the checkpoint and sped away towards the city.
The vehicle was stopped by another group of PNP personnel who is manning the Quarantine Control Point at Lower Magsaysay, Baguio City.
Seven tubular marijuana stalks weighing seven kilograms with an estimated Standard Drugs Price of ₱ 840,000.00 was discovered inside the vehicle.
Police operatives identified the occupants of said vehicle as Manuel Sanchez Balbuena II, 22 years old, Kasmir Vince Del Mundo Gile, 28 years old, and Keihl Gio Paraan Baniqued, 22 years old were arrested.
The trio is now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PROCOR RPIO)
