An ordinance requiring the use of face masks or face covering in public places, the practice of physical distancing, and providing penalties therefore, “Mandatory wearing of face masks or face coverings and physical distancing ordinance of the city of Surigao”
Section 6 of Ordinance No. 432 penalties. Any person who violates this ordinance shall suffer the following penalties:
- First offense, an administrative fine of five hundred pesos (₱ 500.00) payable for one day. In the event that the offender fails to pay the administrative fine, a fine of one thousand pesos (php1,000.00) or imprisonment of ten (10) days shall be imposed, in the discretion of the court.
- Second offense, an administrative fine of one thousand pesos (₱ 1,000.00) payable in one day. In the event that the offender fails to pay the administrative fine, a fine of three thousand pesos (₱ 3,000.00) or imprisonment of twenty (20) days shall be imposed, in the discretion of the court.
- Third offense, an administrative fine of five thousand pesos (₱ 5,000.00) payable in one day. In the event that the offender fails to pay the administrative fine, a fine of five thousand (₱ 5,000.00) or imprisonment of thirty (30) days shall be impose, in the discretion of the court.
