Magaganap sa darating na Setyembe 2-6 2019 ang ika-21 Tuna Congress na may temang “The Tuna Industry: Embracing Technologies and Sustainable Strategies”, sa mga Trade Hall ng SM City General Santos.

Bubuksan ang Tuna Congress ng isang caravan ng magsisimula sa iko-7 ng umaga sa General Santos City Fish Port at matatapos sa SM City GenSan, na susundan ng Tuna Congress Mass sa 3rd floor bridge ng mall.

Gaganapin ang early registration mula alas-10 ng umaga hanggang alas-5 ng hapon kasabay ang pagbubukas ng Tuna Congress Trade Exhibit kung saan si Department of Trade and Industry, Undersecretary Rafaelita Aldaba ang keynote speaker.

Gaganapin sa hapon ng parehong araw ang ika-2 All About Handline Summit kung saan paguusapan ang Small-Scale Tuna Handline Fisheries Improvement Project Experience Towards Marine Stewardship Council Certification sa Mindoro at Lagonoy Gulf, at mga pagbabago sa BFAR Tuna Conservation Management Zone.

Magsasagawa ang SOCSKSARGEN Federation of Fishing and Allied Industries Inc, (SFFAII) ng isang Business Luncheon Meeting para sa mga bisita mla Pampanga.

Magkakaroon ng induction at turn over ceremonies ng mga bagong halal na Opisyal at mga Direktor ng SFFAII, ganoon din sa mga bagong Member-Organization na pangungunahan ni Commission on Election, Commissioner Luie Tito G. Guia, sa KCC Convention and Event Center.

Pormal na magsisimula ang Tuna Congress sa ikalawang araw kung saan dadalo sina Cabinet Secretary Carlo Alexei B. Nograles bilang espisyal na bisita at Department of Agriculture Secretary William D. Dar na siyang keynote speaker.

Magsisimula ang congress plenary ganap na ala-1 ng hapon hanggang 5:45 kungsaan ay pag-uusapan ang Electronic Monitoring, Surveillance, and Control na mayroong mga sub-topics kabilang ang: Philippine system for Monitoring, Surveillance, and Control; Connecting Filipino Vessels, Navcast Technologies for Fisheries, Updates on FAME Technology as an Alternative Vessel Monitoring Technology for Small-Scale Fisheries at Catch Documentation; at Traceability Technology Solutions na mayroong mga sub-topics na: Updates on the Philippines Electronic Catch Documentation and Traceability System, eCDT Technology, at the Point of Catch: Improving Compliance, Fisheries Management, at Industry Business Benefits, eCDT Technology for Processing: Streamlining Business Operations, at eCDT Technology at the Point of Landing: Engaging and Empowering Small-Scale Supply Chain Members.

Pag-uusapan sa huling araw ng congress plenary ang Emerging Technologies for Processors na may sub-topic na: Biotecon Technology and Global Food Safety Standard and Certification in the Food Industry Business, Innovation in Biotesting: Parameters of Interest for Food Processing Companies, Sterilization solution for tuna Cans, at Commodity, Market, Stock Assessment; at Other Updates na mayroong mga sub-topics na: Commodity and Market Updates on Canned Tuna, Commodity and Market Updates on on Chiled and Fresh Frozen Tuna, Updates on the Ocean and Fisheries Partnership, The Fisheries and Stock Status of Tuna in the Western and Central Pacific Ocean, Tuna and the Philippines National Stock Assessment Program, at Tuna and General Santos City Development Plans.

Ipaaalam sa congress ang mga kaunlarang nakamit sa 20th Congress na susundan ng pagbasa ng 21 na mga resolusyon ng 21st Congress na tatangapin ni Senador Cynthia A. Billar na Chairperson ng Committee on Food and Agriculture sa Senado na magbibigay rin ng mensahe.

Magtatapos ang 21st Tuna Congress sa isang Farewell Dinner na gaganapin sa KCC Convention and Event Center, General Santos City sa huling araw.
