A total of 210 residents from various barangays in the city attended the orientation for the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program on January 6, 2025. The event, held at the CDRRMO Multi-Purpose Covered Court, aims to provide emergency employment opportunities to displaced, underemployed, and seasonal workers.

The program, funded by a ₱1 million allocation from Senator Joel Villanueva through DOLE Region V, was implemented in partnership with the City Government of Iriga. Mayor Rex Oliva and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), led by Engr. Cynthia Audal, spearheaded the orientation.

Participants were briefed on the program’s features and introduced to best practices in occupational safety and health. Engr. Audal emphasized that the orientation ensures beneficiaries are well-prepared for their tasks, optimizing the program’s impact.

TUPAD, part of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP), offers short-term employment lasting from 10 to 90 days. Beyond financial assistance, the initiative equips beneficiaries with essential workplace knowledge, promoting both safety and productivity.
