Bacolod City – About 20,000 additional doses of the China-made Sinovac vaccine will be delivered to Bacolod City next week.

Dr. Chris Sorongon, Emergency Operations Center deputy for medical and data analysis, said they will open more vaccination centers in Bacolod once the vaccines arrive.

Sorongon said they are projecting 24 to 25 additional vaccination centers in Bacolod.

He said more vaccination centers are needed since the jabs should be utilized within six days upon arrival, based on the guidelines of the Department of Health.

Executive director Em Ang of the EOC said the vaccination site at SM City mall has been transferred to the SMX Convention Center to accommodate more people.

The vaccination rollout at the Ayala Malls cinema area resumed yesterday after it was temporarily stopped Sunday, Ang said.

She reiterated that only those who have registered online, or through the barangays, will be accommodated.

Ang added that they will only inoculate those who received a text from the EOC informing them of their appointments.

The schedule of vaccination is based on a first-come, first-served sequence in the order that the registration came into the city’s data base.
