A woman was arrested with a man in a drug buy-bust operation at 3 a.m. yesterday at Purok Tahong in Barangay 2, Bacolod.
The operation was conducted by Police Station 3 operatives since the transaction was done in their area of jurisdiction.
Arrested was identified as Mary Therese “Maymay” Espaltero, of legal age.
Eric John Tam of Barangay Alijis was also arrested but Espaltero denied knowing him. She also denied she is on illegal drugs.
Another person identified as Edwin Jimena, Jr., who passed by was also arrested when police saw him carrying a .38 caliber revolver with seven live bullets.
Taken from Espaltero was an elongated sachet of suspected shabu as the buy bust item in exchange of P500.
One more elongated and two big sachets were also confiscated from her that weighed about 13 grams with an estimated market value of P162,000.
The suspects were detained and being charged with violation of RA 9165, while Jimena was charged with illegal possession of firearm and COMELEC gun ban.* (Cyrus M. Garde, NDB photo by Rmn)
