2 LGU Prosperidad employees, 3 other Priority Targets nabbed during PNP, PDEA buy bust operation

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City—– The intensified anti-illegal drugs campaign of Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) resulted in the successful arrest of five priority targets on illegal drugs including two employees of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur and confiscation of Php118,236.00 worth of illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation yesterday evening, August 27, in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

Police Brigadier General ROMEO M. CARAMAT, JR, PRO13 Director said that the operation was conducted by joint elements of Agusan del Sur Provincial Intelligence Unit (ADSPIU), Agusan del Sur Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit (ADS PDEU), and Prosperidad Municipal Police Station around 6:20 PM in Purok 15, Brgy. Poblacion, Prosperidad town.

The region’s top cop identified the arrested suspects as Bryan M. Paldapan, 28 years old; Louie G. Villaruz, 31 years old, both are residents of Brgy. La Union, Prosperidad; Wesley Owen E. Morales, 34 years old; Dennis L. Doctora, 39 years old, and Dimple B. Doctora, 44 years old, the latter three are residents of P-15, Brgy. Poblacion in Prosperidad.

Paldapan is a High-Value Individual listed in the Regional Priority Target on illegal drugs while the other four suspects are Street Level Individuals Priority Target in the province.

Morales and Doctora are both employees of LGU Prosperidad serving as Administrative Assistant II and Traffic Enforcer, respectively.

Confiscated from the suspects were eight sachets of suspected shabu weighing 10.02 grams with Dangerous Drug Board value of Php118,236.00, one Php1,000 bill as buy-bust money, one cellular phone, and assorted drug paraphernalia and personal belongings.

“Despite our intensified efforts to eradicate illegal drug menace in the region, illegal drug personalities continue to challenge our fight. For this, PNP Caraga in partnership with PDEA will step up our efforts to run after these illegal drug traders to ensure that they will be brought behind bars where they truly belong,” RD CARAMAT, JR said.

The arrested suspects will be facing a charge for violation of Section 5 in relation to Section 26, Section 11 and 12, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
