The first dose of CoViD-19 vaccine using Astrazeneca was successfully inoculated to 196 frontline health care workers from Surigao Medical Center for two days March 17 and 18, 2021.
According to Dr. Manolito Go, SMC OIC Medical Director, 23 vaccinated were reported with adverse effect following immunization. Most were fever & chills, myalgia (pamaul) & body malaise (kakapoy). Dr. Go said there were no serious events and some may not have reported their condition.
Health care workers of Miranda Family Hospital and Surigao Doctors Hospital were also vaccinated and yesterday, St. Paul Surigao University Hospital started their vaccination of frontline health care workers. (RPN DXKS Surigao)
