Davao City – Communist Terrorist Groups(CTGs) under Guerilla Front (GF) 55  lost 20 firearms and 14 NPA regulars to the government troops since September to date.

GF 55 is attempting to recover their mass bases in Davao City particularly in Paquibato District. However, these NPA terrorists are now on the run due to relentless focused military operations of the Brigade coupled with Community Support Programs in the target communities.

They have ran out of rations because people are already awaken from the deception of the CTGs.

The recent armed encounter between the combined elements of 27IB and 89IB against about 20 armed men believed to be members of GF 55, Southern Regional Command under Arian Jane Ochita Ramos alias Marikit, transpired at around 09:40 AM, November 15, 2020 at Sitio Lower Mapula, Brgy Mapula, Paquibato District, Davao City resulted to the death of two (2) NPA members.

They are identified as Archie Sagaan aka Bogard, a resident of Sitio Salurayan, Brgy. Santo Domingo, San Fernando Bukidnon and Ryan Ligkat aka Ryan, resident of Sitio Peroy, Brgy. Palma Gil, Talaingod, Davao del Norte.

The government troopers also recovered two M16 rifles, one backpack, two handheld radios, one long magazine, two hammocks, and two bandoliers. The cadavers of the two fatalities were brought to Rivera Funeral Homes for proper disposition.

Fortunately, no one from the 27IB and 89IB trooper was injured during the encounter. Likewise, no civilian was also harmed or displaced since the armed clash transpired in forested areas along the creek lines in Sitio Lower Mapula of the said barangay.

Brigadier General Nolasco A Mempin, commander of 1003Bde said, “the communities have felt the government and the delivery of basic services amid Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Thus, realized that they should not support the CPP-NPA but rather rally behind the government in its campaign to end this local conflict. “

Mempin commend his troops for gallantry, dedication and professionalism in the conduct of military operations.  He also thank the people who provided timely information on NPA’s presence in their community.

He urge the remaining NPAs to think of their families who are waiting for them this Christmas season. The government is offering lots of incentives if they opt to return to the folds of the law under its Enhanced-Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP). He added that Mayor Sara Duterte is open to the surrender of this armed group even if they are not resident of Davao City.

“Let us give peace a chance,” Mempin added.
