13 Former Rebels In Davao De Oro Receive Gov’t Aid Through E-CLIP

Davao de Oro — Thirteen former members of the Communist Party of the Philippines- New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) who returned to the fold of the law have received PHP 745K worth of livelihood and financial assistance through the government’s reintegration program.

The turnover ceremony was held at the Provincial Governor’s Office, Capitol Complex, Davao de Oro yesterday November 3, 2020.

Each former rebel received a check amounting to ₱ 50,000 livelihood assistance and ₱ 15,000 immediate assistance under the DILG’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).

Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy and DILG Provincial Director, Noel C. Duarte are glad that through E-CLIP more rebels are now turning their back against insurgency to have a comfortable, secure, and live a normal life.

Alias Norman, one of the former rebels who received the aid expressed his gratitude to the government for the financial assistance and said to use the money as a capital in improving the quality of their lives with their family.

The activity shows that the government financial assistance is still up for those who are willing to give up their weapons and seek a peaceful life towards starting anew.
