One person died while two of his back riders were seriously injured when their motorcycle collided with a Fuso truck along the National Highway of Brgy. Makilas, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay at about 7:26 PM of October 15, 2020.
Ipil Municipal Police Station said the fatality was identified as Aiben Acabal Maitom, 19 years old, male, student, of Poblacion, Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay, the driver of Honda Beat motorcycle. The two other back riders who were injured were identified as Hannah May Rodriguez Baylon, 19 years old, female, of Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay and Rhynadilig Figueroa, 20 years old, female, single, student, of Brgy. Don Andres, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay. The driver of the Fuso truck was also identified as Primo Lopez Ambos, 58 years old, male, married, of Doyugan Poblacion El Salvador Misamis Oriental.
Investigation disclosed that the black Honda beat with plate number 090107 and the Fuso truck were travelling in opposite direction and upon reaching at the place of incident, the motorcycle overtook another vehicle and losses control and accidentally hit by the incoming Fuso truck. The three victims were rushed to the Ipil Provincial Hospital for medical treatment but Aiben Maitom was declared dead by the attending physician due to hypovolemic shock to his multiple organ injury.
The driver of the truck was unharmed while involved vehicles incurred damages and were brought to Ipil Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. (PCpt. Edwin A. Duco, Chief Public Information Officer)
