A 23-year old man died when shot by an unidentified suspect along the highway of Purok Makugihon, Brgy. Campo Uno, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur at about 4:40 PM of October 15, 2020.
Aurora Municipal Police identified the victim as Jonard Lariosa Torres, 23 years old, male, with live-in partner, of Purok Maalagaron, Brgy. Campo Uno, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur. He suffered several gunshot wounds in the body, right lower ear portion, left leg and died on the spot.
Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident; the victim was on board his driven motorcycle travelling from Purok Maalagaron, Brgy. Campo Uno going to Purok Makugihon, Brgy. Campo Uno and upon reaching at the place of incident, unidentified suspect surfaced and block his path. Without any word, suspect shot the victim several times resulted to his instantaneous death and immediately fled on foot heading towards grassy area of Purok Santa Ana, Brgy. Campo Uno, Aurora.
Recovered at the crime scene was one fired cartridge case of caliber .45 pistol. The Aurora Municipal Police Station is still conducting an investigation on the shooting incident to determine the motive of the killing. (PCpt. Edwin A. Duco, Chief Public Information Officer)
