Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City – A wanted Communist NPA Terrorist, two most wanted persons, and 15 others were successfully arrested by members of Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 during its aggressive campaign against wanted persons yesterday, November 26.
POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M. CARAMAT, JR., Regional Director of PNP Caraga, disclosed that joint operating personnel of Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office, Regional Intelligence Unit 13, and Regional Mobile Force Battalion 13 together with the operatives of 26th Infantry Battalion, 4th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army arrested Roberto C. España a.k.a. Toto España, 59 years old and a resident of Purok 6, Brgy. Don Alejandro, San Luis, Agusan del Sur.
España, a member of Guerilla Front 88, Southern Mindanao Regional Committee, was wanted for murder.
The operation conducted in Purok Bougainvillea, Brgy. San Agustin, Talacogon, Agusan del Sur was carried out based on the strength of Warrant of Arrest issued by 10th Judicial Region, Regional Trial Court, Branch 6, Patin-ay, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur del Norte dated January 5, 2018, with no bail bond recommended.
The top 6 most wanted person in the province of Surigao del Sur, Hurry S. Labiste, 42 years old, and a resident of Sitio Lambago, Brgy. Lapasan Cagayan de Oro City was arrested by personnel of Tagbina Municipal Police Station by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for violation of R.A 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004) issued by RTC, 11th Judicial Region, Branch 29, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur dated June 11, 2018, with bail bond recommended amounting to Php100,000.00.
While Ricky J. Borja, 34 years old, and a resident of District 5, Brgy. Sacol, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte, listed as the top 2 most wanted person in the municipality of Buenavista for the crime of Attempted Homicide was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Municipal Trial Court in Cities, Branch 4, Hall of Justice, Libertad, Butuan City dated July 20, 2020, with recommended bail of Php36,000.00.
PBGEN CARAMAT, JR identified the other wanted persons arrested as:
- Edgardo D. Calderon, 53 years old, resident of Purok 3, Brgy. San Marcos, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur for the crime of rape;
- Dionesio F. Gadiano, 63 years old, resident of Purok 6, Sitio Lancuason, Brgy. Duangan, Esperanza, Agusan del Sur for violation of PD No. 533 (Anti-Cattle Rustling Law);
- Efraim T. Tañeza, 28 years old, resident of Purok Loring, Brgy. Santa Cruz, Rosario, Agusan del Sur for the crime of Theft of Minerals;
- Aquino H. Ferrer, 53 years old, resident of Purok 4, Taghalos, Brgy. Manat, Trento, Agusan del Sur for violation of RA 9262;
- Bryan DG. Panganiban, 32 years old, resident of Purok Loring, Brgy Santa Cruz, Rosario, Agusan del Sur for the crime of Theft of Minerals;
- Canoy B. Duyan, 26 years old, resident of Purok -2B, Sinobong, Veruela, Agusan del Sur for the crime of Slight Physical Injuries;
- Neal E. Ganciña, 24 years, resident of Purok Maraville, Tabon, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur for violation of Executive Order No. 26 in relation to RA 9271 (Quarantine Act of 2004);
- William O. Confesor, 21 years old, resident of Purok Maraville, Tabon, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur for violation of Executive Order No. 26 in relation to R.A 9271;
- John Andy F. Agopitac, 19 years old, resident of Purok Maraville, Tabon, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur for violation of Executive Order No. 26 in relation to R.A 9271;
- Aldren P. Ligutom, 23 years old, resident of Purok 3, Brgy. Consuelo, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur for the crime of Theft;
Meanwhile, wanted persons arrested by virtue of arrest warrants issued by local courts for traffic violations were:
- Donald David Avila, 31 years old and resident of Purok 1, Brgy. Mahay, Butuan City;
- Kenn Costillas Rebusora, 37 years old and resident of Purok 18, Brgy. Mahay, Butuan City;
- Frederick Calonia Serrana, 42 years old and resident of Purok 7, Brgy. Villa Kananga, Butuan City;
- Pepito Bartolazo Mangin, 44 years old and resident of Purok 7, Brgy. 14, Limaha, Butuan City; and
- Jeffrey Valles Torrion, 22 years old and resident of Purok 14, Caduging, Brgy. Aupagan, Butuan City.
“Even amidst the pandemic we are facing today, PNP Caraga’s relentless efforts against wanted persons will continue to ensure safety and security in the region,” PBGEN CARAMAT, JR said.
The region’s top cop attributed the success of police operations to the support of the community who reported the presence of these criminals in their locality which led to their successful arrest.
