Davao City— The recently conducted 2019 De Oro Business and Investment Conference (De Oro Biz Icon) surpassed its target of Php 500 million investment leads by over 200%. About Php 1.2 Billion investments projects were matched during the De Oro Biz ICon held at the Beach Club AtLubi Plantation Island, managed by Dusit at the Kopiat Island, Mabini, Compostela Valley.
Following the plenary session where Compostela Valley Governor Jayvee Tyrone Uy presented the business and investments opportunities of the province, an investment matching session grouped into real estate/public infra, agri-business, and tourism clusters was conducted. The investment matching successfully matched 14 proposed projects in CompostelaValley involving 10 Proponents and 16 Investors. This generated a total of Php 1,235,329,446.00 investments leads/interests including a Php 20 million commitment by SL Agritech Corporation for the Rice Processing
Expansion Facilities proposed by Mawab Cooperative.
DTI Regional Director Maria Bellenda Q. Ambi said that the investments generated were made possible because the province had investment project proposals readily available for matching with prospective investors during the De Oro Biz Icon. DTI Compostela Valley Provincial Director Lucky Siegfred M. Balleque said that for they have compiled over 40 investment proposals for the De Oro Biz Icon alone, adding they will still be using and updating these proposals for for future investment promotion initiatives.
150 delegates composed of local business players, and foreign and Filipino investors attended the De Oro Biz Icon. DTI Secretary Ramon M. Lopez, who also represented President Rodrigo R. Duterte, led the dignitaries which include China Consul General Li Lin, Austria Honorary Consul Peter Faistauer, Indonesia Acting Consul General EndahRachmiYuliarti and their respective members of the diplomatic corps, in gracing the occasion.
