More than 1,300 women from various organizations gathered on March 8, 2025, as the City Government of Iriga hosted the Womenโs Summit in celebration of Womenโs Month and coinciding with International Womenโs Day at Iriga City Sports Center.
As part of the summit, 24 womenโs organizations received P30,000 each in livelihood cash assistance from the city government to support their economic activities.
Adding to the celebration, Firefly Alley and the IP Childrenโs Choir serenaded the participants, while Mayor Oliva distributed roses and heart-shaped lollipops as a token of appreciation.
A highlight of the event was Mayor Rex C. Olivaโs delivery of the โEstado ni Juana: State of Womenโs Report,โ where he presented the current status of women in Iriga and the city’s ongoing efforts to promote gender equality. (Posted as a separate story.)
A special highlight of the summit was the message from Senator Abby Binay and Congressman Migz Villafuerte, who graced the event as guest speakers. Senator Binay emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment, urging all women to take an active role in shaping a better future for themselves and their communities.

City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) โ Social services and support programs.
City Agriculture Office โ Livelihood programs for women farmers.
City Local Civil Registrar โ Assistance with civil registry concerns.
City Health Office โ Free health check-ups and consultations.
City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office โ Disaster preparedness education.
The Womenโs Summit served as a platform for empowerment, support, and recognition of women’s contributions to the cityโs development, reinforcing Irigaโs commitment to advancing gender equality and inclusive growth.
