₱1.2M Marijuana Destroyed In Kalinga

TABUK, Kalinga- Police personnel from the Cordillera Administrative Region have destroyed a total of PHP1.2 million worth of marijuana plants in two separate operations from June 6 and 8.

Personnel of 1st Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) under the leadership of PLTCOL JOSEPH EUJE DC ALMAQUER while conducting combat patrol operation chanced upon the marijuana plantations in two barangays of Tabuk City.

Uprooted and destroyed were 6,000 fully grown marijuana plants in four plantation sites with an estimated value of Php1.2 million.

On June 6 at Sitio Ileb, Nambaran, a total of Php700,000.00 worth of marijuana plants were uprooted and burnt on site.

Just after the first operation, same police unit discovered another marijuana plantation on June 8 in sitio Catao of barangay Lacnog with a total estimated land area of seven hundred square meters with more or less three thousand five hundred (3,500) fully grown marijuana plants and with Dangerous Drug Board value of Php700,000.00.

The marijuana plants were uprooted and burned onsite by police operatives.

The Kalinga police headed by PCOL Davy Vicente M Limmong, OIC commended the personnel of 1st KPMFC for a job well done.

“This operation shows how police are relentless in their anti-illegal drugs operation. This serves as a warning to the cultivators to stop their illegal activities. The authorities will not stop until the drug trade in the province is eliminated. The police are seeking the support of the public in the government’s fight against illegal drugs. Report illegal activities in your area so the police can take appropriate action”. Limmong added.
