Kalinga – Combined elements of law enforcers from different units of Cordillera and region 1 destroyed ₱ 40.780, 000.00 worth of marijuana plants in three plantation sites at Mt. Chumanchil, Barangay. Loccong, Tinglayan, Kalinga from May 6 – 9, 2021.
Operatives from Kalinga anti-narcotics operatives implemented the oplan “FIREFLY” under the leadership of Provincial Director, PCol. Davy Vicinte Limmong in coordination with PDEA discovered the marijuana plantation sites with total land area of 8, 900 square meters in the hinterlands of Kalinga.
The operatives uprooted more or less 88,400 fully grown marijuana plants and recovered dried marijuana leaves and marijuana seeds in the plantation sites.
The said discovered marijuana plants, dried leaves, seeds and stalks were properly documented and were uprooted and burned onsite.
No cultivator was apprehended during the operation.
