ZAMBOANGA: NEWLY-APPOINTED SK OFFICIALS UNDERGO MANDATORY 2-DAY TRAINING

To strengthen youth leadership and governance, the Sangguniang Kabataan Zamboanga City Federation (SKZCF) spearheaded a two-day Mandatory Training for recently-appointed SK officials from the city’s 98 barangays, February 9–10 at the City Hall Press Briefing Room.

The activity was led by the Zamboanga City Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) in coordination with the SK National Federation, headed by SKZCF President Carol Julianne Dalipe, with Christian Olasiman, concurrent ZC Local Youth Development Officer (LYDO).

In his message of support, Olasiman underscored the importance of continuous training in equipping SK officials with the knowledge and skills needed for effective public service.

Dalipe, welcomed the participants and emphasized that leadership is learned through responsibility and accountability, noting that SK officials carry the voices and future of the youth in their communities.

The SK Mandatory Training highlighted the role of the youth in nation-building and aimed to empower SK officials as partners in community development and local governance.

The participants were SK officials, who were appointed to the post in the past months, filling up positions vacated due to resignation, or other circumstances.

Resource speakers included representative from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG); Raymond Domingo, area coordinator of the National Youth Commission – Zamboanga City; Levinia Jarejolne, LYDO of Isabela City, Basilan, and DBM Region IX Director Mark Louie Martin, among others.
