In observance of the 121st Labor Day, the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Regional Coordinating Committee (RCC) together with other stakeholders conducted the Dia de Obrero: Progresibo en Medio de Adversidad-Año Dos, a Labor Day Celebration for the informal sector on May 21, 2023 Sunday at the Zamboanga Central School SPED Center in San Jose Road, this city. The affair was a whole-day event to give provide interested workers the chance to immerse in entrepreneurial undertakings.
Other highlights were the One Stop Services, Government Assistance Turn-Over and Payout, and Skills Demonstration. An estimated 200 participants were expected for the activities.
In his message, Mayor John acknowledged that the informal sector is responsible for bringing life and vibrancy to the community, encouraging all Zamboangueños to stand in solidarity with all hardworking laborers. Mayor John dreams of an economy that paves the way for a sustainable and inclusive future and trusts that Zamboanga can build a society that values the contribution of each worker.
