The city now have 5,138 fully vaccinated individuals for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19).
The City Health Officer Dr. Dulce Amor D. Miravite said, for the A1 category, they were able to vaccinate 10,829 for the first dose while of these number, 5,138 fully vaccinated.
For the A2 category 3,429 were vaccinated while for A3, there were 2,234 vaccinated. These two groups got their first dose of the vaccine.
Vaccines used for these three groups were Astrazeneca and Sinovac. For Astrazeneca one via can be used for 10 persons while foe Sinovac one vial can only be used by one person.
Fully vaccinated means that they got the two doses of vaccines.
A1 is composed of health workers and those working in the hospital setting, clinics, and isolation facilities,
A2 category are senior citizens ages 60 years old and above.
For the A3 person’s with comorbidities these includes person’s with chronic respiratory disease, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, cerebrovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, obesity, immunodeficiency state, neurologic disease, tuberculosis and chronic respiratory tract infection, and chronic liver disease.
This data is still moving where the City Health Office is currently vaccinating the A2 and A3 group.
The City’s vaccination program will cover 694,696 residents which is 70 percent of its projected 2021 population of 992,423 inhabitants.
At least 70 percent of the population should have Covid-19 vaccinations in order to have herd immunity.
Vaccination is one of the strategy of the city government to curve Covid 19 cases.

Currently the city has 8,788 Covid cases, 6,139 recovered, 2,319 active cases, and 330 deaths as of May 17, 2021. (R.G. Antonet A. Go)
