The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in cooperation with the City Government of Iriga through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWD), introduces the ‘Walang Gutom 2027: Food Stamp Program’. This flagship initiative, under Executive Order No. 44 issued by President Bongbong Marcos, aims to combat hunger among low-income households by providing Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards for purchasing select food commodities from eligible partner merchant stores.
Today, registration and card distribution commenced at the Iriga City ICT Building, where the CSWD and the City Government provided essential support for the eligible beneficiaries identified by the DSWD. This program aligns with the Philippines’ commitment to realize the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 2 of ending hunger, achieving food security, improving nutrition.
