TNT routs Magnolia in Game 4, nears 8th title

TNT TROPANG GIGA moved a game closer of ending a six-year title drought after routing Magnolia, 106-89, on Wednesday in Game 4 of best-of-seven finals of Season 46 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) at the Don Honorio Ventura State University gym in Bacolor, Pampanga.

Super rookie Mikey Williams torched Magnolia on his 30th birthday anew by firing 26 points and dishing seven assists while Jayson Castro added 12 points as Tropang Giga took a commanding 3-1 series advantage.Ryan Reyes scattered all 10 points in a blazing second quarter, where TNT detonated a 33-15 scoring bomb to build a 57-39 halftime cushion.

The Tropang Giga established an insurmountable 68-43 advantage and were never threatened the rest of the way.Former San Beda Red Lions Dave Marcelo showed his championship experience by contributing 10 points and five rebounds while JP Erram and Brian Heruela had nine points apiece for TNT.

The Tropang Giga is now eyeing to win their eighth overall PBA crown, sixth Philippine Cup crown, on Friday in Game 5 at 6 p.m.Calvin Abueva finished with 28 points after capturing the Best Player of the Conference award.
