The City Government of Zamboanga through the Office of the City Veterinarian in collaboration with the National Meat Inspection Service RTOC-IX and local stakeholders joins in the observance of Meat Safety Consciousness Week, October 17 to 21, 2022 with the theme “Then and Now, Safe Meat for a Healthier Philippines.”
This is a yearly event. Several activities are lined up, to wit:
- Hanging of tarpaulin at the different meat establishments and
meat channels in the City.
- Revisit on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for Locally
Registered Meat Establishments
- Meat Safety Orientation for Locally Registered Meat
Establishment Operators and Butchers
- Regular conduct of Post-Meat Establishment Inspection at the
different meat markets/ channels together with the NMIS
RTOC-IX
- Regular conduct of veterinary regulatory activities by the Task
Force Karne Enforcement Team at the different meat
market/channels in the City. The Task Force Karne is a
composite team of the local and national agencies, namely:
- Office of the City Veterinarian
- Office of the City Administrator
- Office of the City Health
- Office of the City Mayor – Business Permit and Licensing
Division
- Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources
- Office of the City Engineers
- Office of the City Treasurer
- Philippine National Police
