Tandag City Police Arrests Most Wanted NPA, Spouse Behind Hero Cop Killing

Personnel of Tandag City Police Station (CPS) arrested the topmost wanted person of Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office (SDSPPO) and his live-in partner, who are behind the killing of hero cop, Patrolman Jennis Mark Encinas, during a law enforcement operation conducted in Tandag City, Surigao del Sur yesterday, March 3.

POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M. CARAMAT, JR, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 13, identified the arrested live-in partners who are both members of Weakened Guerilla Front Committee 30, Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee as Ramel Aguire a.k.a. “Jhonny”, 47 years old and Jenelyn Abao a.k.a “Pendang”, 29 years old, residents of Purok-6 Golden Shower, Brgy Pangi, Tandag City.

Aguirre was arrested at their residence around 5:10 PM while Abao was arrested in Brgy. Bongtod, the same city around 5:30 PM.

The operation was based on the strength of Warrant of Arrest issued by 11th Judicial Region, Regional Trial Court, Branch 40, Tandag City, Surigao del Sur for murder with Criminal Case No. 8222-20 and for multiple attempted murder with Criminal Case No. 8221-20 dated December 18, 2020.

The court recommends a ₱ 120,000.00 bail bond each for the crime of multiple attempted murder while no bail was recommended for the crime of murder.

The two were among the Communist Terrorist Group members who killed Pat Encinas and attempted to kill members of operating troops of SDSPPO, during an encounter in the mountainous area of Sitio Paniningkian, Brgy. Buenavista, Tandag City last September 28, 2020.

Pat Encinas was a member of the Public Safety Field Training Program PINAGSANIB Class of 2016-01.

“Five months after the death of Patrolman Encinas, finally justice is being served for the family and to all the men and women of Philippine National Police who are bravely fighting criminality and terrorism throughout the country to give people a safer and more peaceful place to live,” PBGEN CARAMAT, JR said.

POLICE GENERAL DEBOLD M. SINAS, Chief of the Philippine National Police has lauded the strong stance of PNP Caraga against terrorism and its aggressive efforts in going after wanted members of the terrorist group who are posing threats to the peace-loving Caraganons.
